Book meme

Drank too much tea when I met with my statistics study group tonight. Borders does tea service! Yum, but I wasn't expecting the caffeine to affect me so much. ^^;;

Stolen from all over the internet, I'm sure, but most recently from the lovely [ profile] nicocoer.

Don't take too long to think about it. List 15 books you've read that will always stick with you -- list the first 15 you can recall in 15 minutes. Don't take too long to think about it. Tag 15 friends (& while it is easy to tag more, part of the challenge is to think about which 15 friends would have the weirdest or most interesting book list), including me. If you don't want to play, no sweat. Feel free to go about your business. Here are mine, in no particular order (and these are just the 15 for today, at this moment):

Lots of sci-fi and fantasy and weird things below :D )

The first five people to comment to this post get to request a sketch of a character of their choosing from me. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their artistic/writing ability. If you absolutely can't draw, you can offer drabbles or icons or something instead.

I'm willing to offer drabbles or drawbles, no guarantee of quality or timeliness though. :P Please note that in terms of actual experience, I've only done drawings in One Piece fandom, and written only in Arashi fandom so far. ^^;;

Amusingly accurate. ^^ Social desirability bias recalibration largely unnecessary, I think. :P Beatrice! My favorite character in Shakespeare, I think. XD Also, I think that rollercoaster in the pic looks an awful lot like the Vertigo ride at Great America down the way.

...hehehe, three guesses what [ profile] calculusdude16 will get. *snerk*

It's viral, haha, that's why it's a meme after all.

Cut to spare the flist. 90's kids rule the world! (Though I'm not sure how well this applies elsewhere, I was born in the USA ^^;;) )

Wow, that turned out longer than I thought. For those of you who didn't skim it as tl;dr, let me know that I'm not alone in the universe in what TV shows I watched, heheh.

Ganked from [ profile] sasori_katana, answer the questions with fandoms. ^_^

If I ever had flings like these with real people it would probably not end well XD )

The Everything Test

There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-)

You are more logical than emotional, more concerned about others than concerned about self, more atheist than religious, more loner than dependent, more lazy than workaholic, more rebel than traditional, more engineering mind than artistic mind, more cynical than idealist, more leader than follower, and more extroverted than introverted.

No specific personality traits particularly stood out to us. We're sorry!!!

Punk Rock53%
Old Geezer50%
Life Experience

Your political views would best be described as Socialist, whom you agree with around 100% of the time.
Your attitude toward life best associates you with Working Class. You make more than 0% of those who have taken this test, and 65% less than the U.S. average.

If your life was a movie, it would be rated PG.
By the way, your hottness rank is 62%, hotter than 88% of other test takers.

AHAHAHAHAHA "No specific personality traits particularly stood out to us. We're sorry!!!" *giggles* I'm too weird to pin down, apparently. Though that section is strange: the first half of the personality trait list is uncannily accurate, and the second half is entirely the opposite of what I think I am. XD Ahahaha stereotypes through music! So true! I'm a geeky geezer. Considering how much (and what kind of) fic I read, it's sad but true that my life is PG.

In answer to [ profile] erjika's questions:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better ! If I already know you well, expect the questions may be a little more intimate! *
3. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.(whatever, you don't have to)
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

1. Atlantis: true or not? Well, you know how I watch Stargate:Atlantis? :P I think it's a possibility, but maybe it's because it's a tale not from this planet. Ha, Atlantis is full of aliens. XD

2. What type of story themes do you gravitate to, if any? Coming of age is a big thing (re: all those juvenile/young adult fantasy novels I read), transitions in general. Fan of unconventional romances, epic tales from the point of view of the little guy, do those count as themes? In fanfiction I really like outside views of relationships, or stories that revolve around minor/supporting characters in their place in the story.

3. Who would win in a fight: Captain Jack Sparrow or the parrot? Jack Sparrow is gonna turn that parrot into an ex-parrot. XD

4. Country/place you most want to visit but haven't visited yet. There isn't really any place that I'm dying to visit right now, since I'd like to go nearly everywhere. :P How about all the places where my friends live/are at that are not California? So that would, Hawaii, New York, Florida, Benin, New Mexico...I'd like to visit more Asian countries some day, and there's that Africa trip you and I are going on, Fred, some day. :P

5. If you had to revisit calculus or physics again, which one would you choose? Mmmm, on balance, as much as calc with Mr. Mead was fun, I'd do physics, even though the stuff on electricity and currents *killed* me, because the experiments were way cool. Remember the soda bottle CO2 rockets with the egg-parachutes? XD

Letter meme - Comment and I'll give you a letter; then you have to list 10 things you love that begin with that letter. After, post this in your journal, and give out some letters of your own. Let me know if you want a letter. (meme and description from [ profile] kitty_tape who handed me mine.

And my task is B! Cut because there is lots of ramblage about why I picked each thing )

Am home, am (clearly) bumming, but there are plans to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium with [ profile] fishuuttawatuh and [ profile] calculusdude16 on Sunday, before UCSC starts. Though I'm dreading navigating (well, not me, whoever's driving :P) the highways with everyone moving in this weekend...

ganked from [ profile] murasaki_kaze, because I said I would post. :P

I want to know 28 things about you. I don't care if we've never talked, never liked each other, or if we already know everything about each other. I really don't. You are obviously on my list, so let me know with whom I am friends!

Meme-age to follow. Fill in if you're so inclined. ^_^ )

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Friday [ profile] commodoremarie and I robbed a bank (-50 points). Last month I ruled Asscrackistan as a kind and benevolent dictator (700 points). Last Monday I gave [ profile] raonaid416 a kidney (1000 points). In May I turned [ profile] murasaki_kaze in for running naked in the mall (3 points). In February I helped [ profile] yxonomei hide a body (-173 points).

Overall, I've been nice (1480 points). For Christmas I deserve a new dolly!

Write your letter to Santa! Enter your LJ username:

Does anyone want to join my enclave in Asscrackistan? Free crisps and plot/smutbunnies for everybody! Also, I keep refreshing, and for most of them I'm robbing a bank with [ profile] commodoremarie. Premonitions? ^^

Song Meme

I had a peppermint mocha around 11 in the evening. It's having an effect reminiscent of freshman year where I ended up staying up til 3am doing an artwork. :P Awake enough for paper writing, hopefully.

Have been tagged by [ profile] yaviasad. Feel free to do if you want, I'm not tagging anyone, except perhaps [ profile] erjika. Should it be sad that I've responded even later than [ profile] artemidora, who posts once in a blue moon? :P

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.

Hmm. I've got a lot of anime music going right now...

1)Ohayou by Keno, the Hunter x Hunter opening theme
2)Ready Steady Go, Fullmetal Alchemist second opening theme
3)Le Ragazze by Neri Per Caso (my new musical crush- Italian a capella!)
4)Chasing Aphrodite by David Lanz- lovely piano music album
5)Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine, composed by Eric Whitacre. OMGOMGOMG, try to find a recording if you can of this. It's a choral work, incredibly amazing. heard it this weekend when I went to my friend's concert with the Pomona College Choir.
6)Must Be Dreaming by Frou Frou. It's all thanks to [ profile] murasaki_kaze that I have her music. whoo. ^^
7)Todos Tenemos Un Amor by La Mosca Tse Tse- a fun band out of Argentina

can you tell i'm procrastinating on a paper? Also I'm downloading pretty much all the Naruto manga scanlations. So. Addicted. :P

Procrastination! Yay!
Put yer name in google as "name needs", yadda yadda. It was actually kinda hard to find good ones, most of them were repeats. Hmmph. :P

Helen needs to do more studying or she ___ her exams. a. willn't pass. b.
won't pass. c. will not to pass. d. won't to pass

Helen needs to change her life and quickly.

Helen needs to forget all that has happened in the past ten years...

Helen needs all the help she can get.

Helen needs human contact after working on her computer for so long.

Helen needs to be cool and sassy.

Helen needs to work hard to persuade him that their best option is to continue to live a normal, superpower-free life.

All Helen needs is some industrial strength prune juice.

Gee, I wonder if the internet is trying to tell me something.... ^_~
