I live! I've got my OP fanart groove back! It got eaten by a period when the OP comms I hang out in and the journals I followed were relatively quiet, and then I was tired from work, and then my brain got eaten by Arashi (though not the rest of Jpop fandom quite yet, hopefully).
But now that the camera/photo developing retail business is in a bit of a slowdown because everyone's on vacation (it should get more busy in September, according to my boss) and the new!shiny!ghei!fandom grasp Arashi has on me has cooled off a little, my inspiration has returned! *dances, but with more flail and less frills and sparkles than Jpop boys*
I think I need somebody to flail with about Arashi, that might calm me down since until this point I've been mainlining youtube videos and capspam posts. The trouble is, like One Piece, there's just SO MUCH CANON possible to go through and enjoy. OP sucked me in for about four months before the flush of new fandom wore off, just because it took me that long to catch up on canon and what fandom had produced. When did OP come out? 1997? 1999? Arashi debuted in 1999 and besides their concerts they also do weekly shows filled with dorkery and nakamashippy goodness.
Now the point! Recordkeeping. Posted art to the anniversary contest in
zosopp here and crossposted to
onepieceyaoi here. Don't need to click on both since it's the same art unless you're interested in reading the comments (hopefully there will be comments! ^^;;)
It was fun drawing this. Got struck with inspiration and sketched it out in half an hour in bed. Inked it (I love my micron pens so much), then took my Crayola color pencils with me and spent about an hour and a half on and off coloring it in while waiting for the bus and also while on the bus. I'm much more satisfied with the color saturation this time compared with the nakama nap pile one.
