400 applicants, only 38 accepted this year. So full speed ahead finding a new full-time job, and I'll definitely reapply next year. Here's hoping SJSU's financial situation will be better next year, ehehe.

So now I have to break it to the professors who wrote my letters. Urg. On the bright side, this means I'll likely be more flexible about being able to go to China in the fall for my cousin's wedding.

In other news, the stitches are coming out tomorrow! So I'll post up pictures of my Frankenstein-monster fingers. :D

Hope all of you are well~ ♥

Suck >_< I've been hearing that all the grad programs are really difficult this year, but I'm really sorry D:

And your professors will survive and revise the letters for next year--and be happy to.

And I'm morbidly curious about the Franken-fingers, so I'll look forward to it.

Hang in there!

Thank you hon. Here's to things working out better next year. Thank you so much for all your help with my statement of intent, I definitely ended up with a better piece of writing than it would have been otherwise. ♥

Franken-fingers will be coming!

Oh hey! Are you on the stormy_team comm? There's this one part (er, I don't think this would be spoiling) on their sub of Nino and Sho going on Nep League where Nino calls Sho 'Sho-chan', and Sho basically has this *___* look on his face when he goes "This is the first time you've called me Sho-chan!" Which amuses me in the context of fanon!Nino. XDD

Also. Japanese having hiragana, katakana and kanji sure makes for sadistic wordplay games. DX

Hope you're doing well, m'dear! <3

No problem at all&hearts and if you want another read-through next year, just let me know--I'll be happy to do it!

And I did see the NEP and cracked up over this. Though I'm pretty sure I've heard him do it before, perhaps not in Sho's company, though, more like talking about Sho.
But that kind of moment is always pretty amusing when taken in the context of fic representations ^^

OH LORD. Those wordplay games kind of fascinate me *__* I try to explain the complicated nature of Japanese to my mother by describing how there are game shows essentially made possible by the craziness of the language ^^;

*hugs*

you too! I'm almost through one species of crazy, and hopefully going to wade through a much less . . . . concentrated variety of crazy ^^;

Sorry to hear SJSU didn't take you! 38/400... wow, that's really, ridiculously competitive. Hopefully next year when you reapply they'll take more people. Meanwhile, I hope the job hunt goes well. I'm starting to job hunt too, and it's SCARY in this economy.

Crazy indeed. My friend was just turned down from a nursing program with something like 14/300+. It's insane! Everyone's trying to get more schooling to be more competitive for working, and meanwhile the schools have no funding. o.O I hope your job hunt goes smoothly, are you going to try to find something in Davis or range farther afield?

Random! I might be in Berkeley for this race symposium/discussion on Saturday for my ASL class, since it's interpreted.

Ideally I'd like a position in or close to Davis (Sacramento would be the most realistic since Davis has few jobs outside of the university, which has a major hiring freeze), but I'm going to apply for anything that's a good fit within a 45-or-so minute commute. The position I just interviewed for was in Vallejo, which is probably about my limit for how far I can go when I'd have to drive. Are you looking in the San Jose area?

Enjoy Berkeley. I miss living there!
