Sponsor Training

Hey all. So I'm in Claremont, and through most of sponsor training, which has been intense. Drove down Thursday with my mom and bro to San Diego, where we stayed in a little motel and ate Olive Garden. Friday was visiting a friend of a friend, where we got to ride in a small boat around the San Diego harbor and see the tall ships festival from afar and go under the Coronado Bridge. That was cool, and my brother got to steer for a while, and we went waaaay fast. ^_^ Then we drove into Claremont (the traffic was absolutely horrible) and I got to see my new room for the first time.
yaviasad, my dear I owe you a big present because my room is wonderful! It's roomy and there's a lovely big bookshelf and closet and a sink! Though the mattress is a bit overly squishy, I'm really glad to be living in Toll this year.
AASP (asian american sponsor program) training is good. The workshops are mostly all pretty damn amazing, talking about API (asian pacific islander) identity, health issues (and talking about health issues), communication, lgbt issues and how that pertains to APIs, some theory about "diversity" by the awesome Prof. Kim, networking with the sponsor programs on the other campuses and finding out how their program works, history of asian american studies and our sponsor program. Good stuff. My brain is full of information and things to process. I feel like we're really bonding as a group, and I'm personally doing more bonding with the other sponsors this year. Some damn cool ladies here that I'm glad to be in the program with. And it's weird now that I'm a senior, sometimes I feel like I actually have an idea what I'm talking about, hahah. (only sometimes, though. mostly i'm still silly, and more of a listener)
So here I am. Photos will be forthcoming to be posted from waaaaay back once I get my comp (and other stuff) out of West dorm storage on Sunday. We'll see. Take care, all of you. ^_^
