Youtube deleted this one in that wave of removals awhile back. It's not really a fanvid in the best sense, all I did was cut out the ending and put in music - but it fits eerily well. The one you linked is much funnier, but this is the one I made earlier this year:

Well...you asked. lol

Arashi is a Japanese boyband. But they are soooo much more than that; they're idols, which means they may not necessarily be all that talented at singing and dancing, but they're all around entertainers. Five guys who are by turns incredibly dorky boys, lovable idiots, and smoking hot performers. I fell in love with them because of their TEAM feel, like how a lot of people like SGA. :P Their interaction in front of the cameras feels incredibly genuine, not just an act for the fangirls.

Other people have done better jobs of talking about them than me, I just love them and watch a lot of videos and read the occasional article pointed out to me. ^_^

I would start in my memories, because the first few things I put in the Arashi categories are all pimp posts. So you can learn who they are and tell five guys apart, and learn about their wonderful gayness and also watch videos. Unfortunately I don't think most of the youtube links will work anymore, but you can search around. Youtube, Veoh, crunchyroll, etc. have a variety of videos. This fandom is phenomenal in that lots of people will upload, translate, sub, and recap all the 'canon' that is out there. ♥

The corner of fandom that I'm in is geared more towards downloads, because lots of good quality downloads of music, television shows they do, shows they're on, concerts they perform, are available. But you can find lots of awesome clips still on streaming sites here and there. My entry into fandom was through my account on crunchyroll.com, which has a bunch of their concerts and music videos up. http://arashianfiles.orgfree.com/ is where I got a lot of music and stuff to start.

If nothing else...look for the PV (promotional video, aka music video) of Sakura Sake, the music's catchy and fun. Also any concert solo for Ohno Satoshi. *melts* Umm, they do a lot of tv shows, have three regular shows on right now, one a late night one where they play retarded games and eat food, a prime time show about revealing 'secrets of society', and one where they play competitive games against guests.

In the past they've done shows like C, D and G no Arashi where they interview people on location, do batshit experiments, and are giant dorks. Also they did Mago Mago Arashi, where they go to a grandparents' home and play their grandchildren for a day, helping the old couple out. Arashi is good for the community! :D :D :D

Mmmm, for more info beyond my memories...the lj folks who I'm friends with or stalk include beckerbell (who writes awesome recaps and occasional fic), aatash (who's an incredible sweetie who does translations and picspams), flange5, tipsytoe, tayuri and yuckie_chan I also enjoy reading for their picspams and recaps. Also the last two do subbing/translating, last lady provides some hot magazine scans, and provide links. Really, there's lots of wonderful people in fandom, I'm meeting new people all the time, and it's full of squee. And slowly growing with lots of good fic. Hit me up for fic when you learn who they are. XDDD

Oh God, Japanese popslash! I love it! I totally want to jump into this fandom. Esp if there is good *ie. hawt* fic out there for it. I think you also introduced me to Tokio Hotel. I soooo wanted to go see them when they were at the House of Blues in LA not too long ago. Grrr.

Heee. How much have you picked up? Umm...all the rest of my Arashi memories are of good fic. Also if you go through the Arashi memories of beckerbell, "lj user="darkeyedwolf" and a few others, there's lots of good fic listed there. ^_^ waxrose writes some of the hottest stuff out there.

Tokio Hotel? Er...not me. I'm a fan of the group TOKIO, which is jpop with more of a rock and roll bent, but unfortunately if you just search for TOKIO on youtube it always brings up Tokio Hotel. If you want to get into TOKIO too...um, look for Ashita wo Mezashite. XDD I have a pimp post for them if you look in my memories in the 'JE' section. :P
