It just looks like I am. :P Sorry, work has been sucking my energy lately so I have just enough to read entries. I will get to all those comments piling up in my inbox, I'm still thinking of good replies! ^^;;;

Tonight, [livejournal.com profile] calculusdude16 had a choir concert. Carmina Burana, delicious. C and I were both in choir together frosh year of college when we did Carmina Burana, and let me tell you, it's a different beast being part of the singing and getting to listen to it from the outside. ^___^ So awesome.

[livejournal.com profile] erjika, [livejournal.com profile] jimmysassypants and I drove down to watch it. Armed with knitting and too many snacks from my grandmother, heheh. My college choir played it really straight, this version was awesome and I hope they tape it and I can get my sticky little hands on it. Because they had supertitles (was dorkily squeeing about it) and the tenor they had singing the Roasted Swan song while they're all in taberna? *dies* The guy was dressed like a roasted swan. And acted it all out. The bass dragged him off the floor before sining his part, and the tenor was still twitching. XDDDD

Also, the supertitles reminded me of how....earthy this piece is. XDDD Springtime of youth! A boy and a girl in a room together! Giving up all the riches of the world to have the Queen of England in one's arms! Drinks for all!

I still get the "oh, oh oh, totus floreo! Iamamori virginali etc etc~ Novus novus novus amor est quo perdio! quo perdio! quo perdio!" part stuck in my head. And the final O Fortuna sent shivers down my spine. Mmmmm, I love this piece.

Carmina!!!! I love Carmina Burana ^_^ My first year roommate in college and I were in the University choir when they did it, and for some reason, we would walk around campus saying OOOooorffff! Kind of like "oof!" as if one has just been pushed, but more drawn out and ridiculous.

And the O Fortuna is just . . . tingly&hearts The 18000 times it's been used in movies and commercials hasn't managed to dampen that; that's how awesome it is ^_^

And you had me just singing the Queen of England part because it's just that fun ^_^

I kind of love supertitles too &hearts

I have been both a bad poster and and bad replier--> crazy couple of weeks, and the next week will be packed too ^^" *glares at stack of 30 papers, messy apartment, etc.

Boy thinks we should do a dry run of Thanksgiving dinner (inlaws and starchy grandmother in law descend (uninvited, I might add) in 5 days and are staying at the apartment *___* Boy is more blasé about apartment tidiness, etc >_<).

Of course, the only rational option now is to ignore the looming disaster and post on lj . . . many screencaps to take first though ^^"

Heeeee, Oooooorf! Like Wooooorf! XD

o.o Good luck with that dry run. Are the two of you going to be cooking all the food, or will the in-laws and starchy grandmother contribute?

...>.> Hide the porn and rainbows!

*joins you under bed. Haven't even hit crazy retail time and I'm ready for it to be over, hehe.*

Exactly!! "OOOOORRRFFFF!"

This kind of makes me want to email her randomly with just the word "OOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRFFFFF!!!" and see what happens. I think there were some emails in September, but otherwise, not really in contact for the last 5 years or so ^^"

Umm . . . we're cooking everything but I think a pie and some sort of squash dish. They're flying in on Thursday, so the pie will already be made, I guess? And she's bringing squash from their garden I think. It will be interesting to see how this goes.

Porn is hidden. Rainbows are proudly displayed, along with figurines. They can deal ^^"

Crazy retail time >_< I have so many people to shop for. I know what I'm getting my brother, but that leaves me with literally two dozen more people *___*

eep. T__T

OH! I loved the Obama Mary Sue. I made Boy read it. And I sent it to my friends who would get it. It was kind of fantastic ^_^

It was, it was. How goes it over there? Do you think you might be able to visit again next year? *pines* Have a lovely turkey day, m'dear. A day of relaxation and fandom, yum. :P

It goes well here--and a lovely turkey day to you as well.

Re: a visit: I don't know yet! I'm going to try to go to at least three cons next year--Muskrat Jamboree, Wiscon, and Readercon, and I haven't decided about Dragon*Con yet. Feel free to join me at any of them, if you are able and so inclined! MJ will be my first slash con (organized by brooklinegirl and other hella cool people!) [zomg delurking freakout! :-P], and Esteban and I are bringing a small horde to Wiscon (so poke one of us if you are interested in being one of them!)--and I know my friend Megan will be at Dragon*Con, even if I don't know anyone else there. Readercon will be new territory for me! (I anticipate getting all the book recommendations in the entire world. I will be a happy slave to LibraryThing forever.)

So the three cons I'm definitely attending are all concentrated in the first half of the year. That leaves the second half an expanse of undecided potential, so--no promises, but we shall see! I would certainly love it if I could see my California people again.

And naturally, if you ever feel like wandering over to Alabama, you will be welcome!

How is the internship going, speaking of? Last I remember there was drama with the person arranging it in the first place?

Ooooer. I'm completely out of commission visiting-wise through the new year, but after that it should be dead. So I'd love to take a day or so in January and come up and visit you. ^_^ Hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving with A. ♥

internship's been going great since I managed to get properly placed. everyone I work with is great, and I'm learning a lot.

I'll be back in town January 7th (gone the 2nd-6th), with my only major commitment being internship on Wednesday and Friday till classes start. sounds like that would be a good time for both of us to get together. I'm happy to drive to SJ too. :) have a great holiday and don't get crushed under the holiday retail rush!
