Still not dead

A day late and a dollar short, as the saying goes. But anyhow!

I wanted to wish all you lovely dears Happy Lunar New Year!

I only know a few 4-character sayings, so I'll trot them all out for you, hehe. ♥

新年快乐！(Happy New Year!)
恭喜发财！(Most people know this as Gong Hay Fat Choy in Cantonese, aka lots and lots of prosperity to you!)
万事如意！(May all your affairs go smoothly in the way that you wish! *snerkaffairsIamtwelve*)
身体健康！(Good health to you!)
学习进步！(May your studies improve/go forward positively etc.!)

Hope you're all doing all right; feel free to bitch with me about the stuff that's being a pain.

On the personal front!
1. I applied for grad school! Communications Disorders and Sciences, to be a speech therapist. I should hear back sometime in April.

2. I'm learning to cook more! I made fried rice with fish cake for my family's new year dinner.

3. fandom-wise I'm currently going between my old love of Arashi and a new obsession with Super Junior-M. A canon in which I can actually kinda-sorta understand when they're talking. primroseshows is laughing at me, I can tell. The fic is good and the primary characters I read fic for remind me of Nino/Aiba/Jun in their various permutations.

4. There is no four? But I'm slowly changing my life in small steps, trying to get out of this rut. We'll see how this goes. My to do list includes unpacking more boxes from the move, replying to people's emails, finish my taxes so I can do the fafsa, and find a new job. Small steps, ehehehe.

5. All my love to you! I fail at being around, but I deeply appreciate your presence online, sharing the fun, the depressing, the crazy, the silly, the gamut of human experience. That's all for tonight. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Hey you! Ehehehe, it didn't come up and I didn't think to talk about it cuz we were all about movie-watching anyway?

Yeah, so long story short, over the summer my mom and I were house-hunting to move out together to a different place. We found a townhouse and moved at the end of October/beginning of November. Rest of the family's still at the main house, but independence for me and my mom. ^^ We live about two minutes drive/10 minutes walk away, down the main street.

And yes! SJSU is where I'm aiming for, so we'll see. ^^;;

Let me get my food to taste better than bland and then I'll inflict it on you, heee.

Yay, that sounds like the perfect compromise between having some privacy but still being near the whole family! Can't wait to see it the next time I'm in San Jose. :)

I'm doing well, just stuck back in the usual grad school grind till I finish in May. We actually will be moving again too in late June - already signed a lease for a place in Downtown Davis. yes, the housing market in Davis is so ridiculous that you have to sign leases months in advance to get a popular apartment complex downtown. craziness!

I don't have anything to bitch about at the moment (I went to a rock show yesterday and we were like thirty people there, so we all got to hang out with the bands later on, which was really cool and made me all happy), but I'll definitely think of your offer when I feel the need to bitch again. ^-^


I remember that you once told me that you thought about becoming a speech therapist, that's so cool! I always admire how much tenacity and patience speech therapists have to have, especially when the patients are people with aphasia, or people with a hearing impairment, and the "understanding speech" part is as much affected as the "producing speech" part. I hope you'll tell us stuff about what you learn, I'm really interested in it!



Super Junior M is the one with the guy called Henry who plays the violin, right? I always get all those SuJu guys mixed up (too many of them!), but I kind of remember the whole insanity when he was introduced into SuJu.

Argh I'll get to your posts, I swear. >.< orz But yay for being able to go to shows. \o/ The last (and only) time I went to a concert that wasn't a coffee shop sort of thing on my old college campus was AAA 2008. ^^;;

Fingers crossed so hard on my getting in, but suppose that I do, I will definitely try to keep you updated! I'm learning interesting stuff at the moment with the American Sign Language and child development classes that I'm taking to prepare for it. :D

Yup, Super Junior M has Henry, who's Canadian Chinese! You know what's scary, is I've watched enough youtube clips in the past three weeks that I can now recognize 12/15 of Super Junior and Super Junior M. o.O It's the same feeling I got after I realized that I could recognize all the currently debuted Johnny's groups through KAT-TUN. o.O The rest of the fandom is insane, but I'm being exceedingly entertained by the SJM dorkery.
